30. Series Expansion L2 [2021]

Overview

1. 30. Series Expansion L2 [2021]

We practiced integrated questions involving the Series Expansions techniques picked up last week. These included the Maclaurin Series and its Standard Series, together with the Binomial Series. On top of these, when any angle is specified to be sufficiently small, we applied small angles approximation. Some helpful tips from our practice: 1) Differentiate efficiently: Remember to consider manipulating and replacing, and make it a habit to avoid denominators and roots where possible. 2) How does the question imply that a Series Expansion is to be used? Note that our series expansions are approximations in the form of polynomials. 3) Small Angles are a requirement in many questions. In application questions, look out for appropriately small angles to use (remember the 85 vs 5 degree question?). Also, units ;)
